1. Purpose and acceptance
These terms govern the use of Project Nat20, a 3D virtual tabletop available at https://project-nat20.com. By creating an account, you accept the version shown above. The date and number of that version are recorded with your account.
The privacy policy and the legal notice complete this document. Reading the privacy policy is not consent to optional uses: Project Nat20 currently runs no advertising or analytics tracker.
2. Access to the service and account
An account is required to join an adventure. You must give an e-mail address you have access to, choose a lawful handle, and keep your credentials secret. One person must not use another person's account.
You are responsible for actions taken from your session until you report that it has been compromised. Project Nat20 may limit sign-in attempts and revoke sessions in order to protect the service.
Minimum age. The service is intended for people aged fifteen or over. Below that age, registration requires the permission of a holder of parental authority, who may write to us at contact@project-nat20.com to withdraw it and ask for the account to be deleted. Project Nat20 does not ask for a date of birth and does not try to verify one: that information is not necessary to the service, and collecting it to check age would create one more thing to protect.
3. A service in beta
The beta allows you to create adventures, prepare scenes, import assets and play together. Some functions are still being built and the interface may change. The public pages distinguish what is available from what is announced for later.
The service is provided free of charge in its current version. A future paid offering would be subject to separate terms and information before any commitment; these terms create no subscription.
4. Maps, miniatures and other content
You remain the holder of whatever rights you have over the maps, models, portraits, texts and other items imported into or written in Project Nat20. You grant the publisher only the technical permission needed to store, check, convert, back up, transmit and display those items to the authorised members of your adventures.
You warrant that you hold the necessary rights or permissions. Do not import infringing, unlawful or malicious content, nor third-party personal data without a legitimate basis. The licences of the original services, in particular for miniature exports, continue to apply to your use.
5. Forbidden uses
The following are forbidden, among others:
- harassing, threatening, impersonating or otherwise harming other people;
- distributing content that is illegal, hateful, sexual involving minors, or that invades privacy;
- circumventing permissions, quotas, access controls or security measures;
- probing, flooding, abusively automating or otherwise disrupting the service;
- introducing a file designed to compromise Project Nat20 or another user's device;
- reselling access to the beta, or using the trademark in a misleading way.
6. Life at the table and visibility
The game master manages the members, the published scenes and the permissions of their adventure. Handles, table actions, messages, dice results and content placed on the table are visible to the other members according to those settings. A private asset does not become public merely by being imported.
Each group remains responsible for its own rules of conduct and play. Administration may suspend an account or close an adventure reversibly where abuse is established; the action and its reason are logged. The panel gives no access to private messages. A report can be sent through the Contact page.
7. Availability, maintenance and data
The publisher aims to keep Project Nat20 accessible and to protect data, without promising continuous availability or the complete absence of errors. Interruptions may be necessary for maintenance, security or technical evolution.
Project Nat20 must not be the only copy of an important creation. Keep the originals of your maps, models and documents. The current state of the service is visible on the Status page.
8. Suspension and end of the account
An account or access to an adventure may be suspended in the event of a security risk, serious abuse, manifestly unlawful content or repeated breach of these terms. Except in an emergency or where the law requires otherwise, an explanation and a way to get in touch will be provided.
You can close your account yourself, from your profile. Closure is immediate and final: it erases your personal data, takes down the adventures you run, and removes the files you imported, including the miniatures you had placed on other players' tables. The messages you wrote in an adventure's chat stay visible to those who played there, without your name. The detail is in the privacy policy.
Before you leave, you can take your data with you as JSON from the same page.
9. Subscriptions, payment and withdrawal
Paid plans are open for sale. The terms below apply to every subscription. They are written to be read before you pay, not discovered afterwards.
What is sold
A subscription gives access to the functions and quotas described on the Plans page, for a personal account. It is taken monthly or yearly, and renews automatically at its term for the same duration until it is cancelled.
Price and duration
Prices are shown in euros on the plans page. The exact amount, the duration and the date of the first charge are shown before the payment is confirmed. That screen is what binds, not the plans page. The price of a period already paid never changes; a price change takes effect only at the following renewal, after notice by e-mail with reasonable warning, and the subscription can be cancelled before it applies.
The publisher is under the French VAT franchise scheme: VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the CGI. Displayed prices are therefore the amounts actually due, with no tax to add.
Payment
Payment is handled by Stripe Payments Europe. Card details never pass through Project Nat20 and are never stored there: they are entered on a page hosted by Stripe. Invoices are available at any time from your profile.
Cancellation
A subscription can be cancelled at any time, without reason or charge, through the permanent Cancel your contract journey, also linked from the profile and every public-page footer. A final review precedes confirmation, which immediately produces a reference and timestamped receipt. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period: access and quotas are kept until then, after which the account returns to the free plan. Periods already started are not refunded, except under the withdrawal right below.
Right of withdrawal
You have fourteen days from subscribing to withdraw, without reason or penalty (art. L221-18 of the French consumer code). Use the permanent Withdraw from the contract here journey to review and confirm your declaration; it immediately gives you a downloadable timestamped receipt and sends it by e-mail. You may also write to us at contact@project-nat20.com; no particular wording is required.
Since access opens immediately after payment, at your express request, withdrawal gives rise to a refund of the amount paid less what has already been supplied, in proportion to the time elapsed (art. L221-25). Withdrawing the day after a monthly subscription therefore costs one day, not one month.
Failed payment
If a charge fails, access is maintained for seven days while the situation is settled. After that delay without payment, the account returns to the free plan. Nothing is erased: adventures, scenes and files stay in place and become accessible again as soon as the subscription resumes, subject to the free plan's quotas.
Consumer mediation
Where a dispute is not resolved by a prior written complaint, you may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator: Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice (CM2C), 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris · https://www.cm2c.net. You may also contact it at cm2c@cm2c.net or 01 89 47 00 14.
10. Project Nat20 and intellectual property
The name, interface, texts, graphic elements and code of Project Nat20 remain protected by the applicable rights. The source code is not public, and the project is under a proprietary licence unless a specific component states otherwise.
The trademarks, game systems and third-party services mentioned belong to their holders. Project Nat20 is independent and is neither sponsored nor endorsed by those publishers.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for content imported by users, for decisions taken by a game master in their adventure, or for indirect losses arising from an interruption of the beta. This clause limits no mandatory right and no liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Changes, governing law and contact
A significant change to these terms will be dated, published and, where it substantially changes the agreement, presented to the accounts concerned before use continues. These terms are governed by French law, subject to any more protective mandatory rules that may apply.
For a contractual question or a dispute, write to contact@project-nat20.com so that an amicable solution can be sought first.
